A reconditioned BMW X2 20d engine is taken fully apart, cleaned and inspected, then rebuilt with new wear components where they're needed. Depending on what the inspection shows, that can include the timing chain, tensioner and guides, bearings, piston rings, gaskets and seals. The cylinder head and crankshaft are also checked for wear or damage. Once it has been reassembled to specification, the engine is tested before fitting.
